really??

See that delectable looking chocolate bar in the header up there? Could you ever guess that hidden inside that chocolate bar are bits of BACON? Really?? Yes, you heard me correctly. The founder of Vosges decided she likes the combo of sweet and salty, and came up with this bar. As much as I love chocolate, I have to admit I was a bit skeptical upon seeing a chocolate bar with a picture of a nasty piece of bacon on the box.
That’s why it took me almost a week before I could open it and give it a taste. Last night was the night- FatJ and I busted it open and each ate a square. And then we each ate another square. And then FatJ said “I want another piece of that chocolate” and then I said “no”. Result: it’s good. It really is. Admittedly, it was slightly odd to discover small bits of chewy bacon in my mouth as I savored the chocolate, but all in all, the combo actually works. **Thank you Chicagoan friends for introducing us to such a delicacy.**

Sounds interesting! I would try it
oh. that sounds GOOD, actually!
That is hilarious…this same “treat” has been sitting at work for about two weeks but EVERYONE has been scared to try it. With your endorsement I will give it a try next week. I will let you know!
I think that sounds gross!! Do you generally like bacon? Tony would go nuts over that… I’ll have to find out how to get a bar here.
I can’t do the bacon and chocolate (I love salt, but it’s a bit too much!) but I definitely recommend people try it if you haven’t before. It’s their best-selling bar, so it’s definitely gone over well here in Chicago. They also have a “flying pig” bacon chocolate that’s pretty awesome-looking.
Personally, I like the traditional yet not boring truffles and chocolate bars. Yum.
