I’ve been a lurker on this blog for awhile now. Today, however, I left a comment because I giggled at some of the ’25 interesting/random things’ that this blogger posted, and thought I’d try this myself. Here we go, 25 extremely interesting and random facts about me:
1. I’m trying to whip out this list before 10:00 p.m. It’s 9:17 right now.
2. I was born in Ely, MN.
3. I was scared of meeting my freshman-year college roommate because she was from Edina. She was scared about meeting me because I was from Duluth. She thought I’d have taconite coming out of my ears and mall bangs. I now consider her one of my bestest friends.
4. My husband is at the Wild game right now. I loved hockey in high school. Now I’m ambivalent.
5. I received an email today that contained the words “mucus plug.” I won’t elaborate further on this one.
6. One time as a teenager waking up on a non-school day, I looked down in my just-waking-up stupor and saw a mouse scurrying next to my bed. I started screaming and ran into my brother’s room and jumped on top of him snoozing away in his bed. He thought I was being attacked by a murderer.
7. I’ve eaten at Dunkin Donuts in Warsaw, Poland.
8. I didn’t watch the inauguration live today. I’ve justĀ been watching snippets of it all evening.
9. I hate meatballs. And sweaty cheese.
10. When I got married, FatJ’s sister and I had the exact same name. And Christmas gifts and contact lens orders where getting screwed up left and right.
11. It is now 9:29 and I’m only on #11.
12. I sometimes get hungry right before I go to bed, but I’m too tired to snack in the kitchen, so I bring the snack up to bed with me. And it pisses my husband off to no end.
13. The first concert I ever attended was Richard Marx. I think I was 13 or 14 or something. I was reminded of this because today I heard “Right Here Waiting for You” on the radio.
14. I also saw Nelson in concert. AND got backstage passes to meet them. Sweet Jesus. Those are pictures that need to be burned.
15. Sometimes I wonder if my child would not be such a demanding, persistent, whiney little bugger if I were a working mother instead of a stay-at-home one.
16. Crap! I’m only on #16 and it’s 9:35 and battery power is only at 14%.
17. I have an osteochondroma on my right knee.
18. I wish my house had one more room. I would make it a playroom.
19. I wonder what all those neighbors that I haven’t seen since Halloween have been up to. I can’t wait for the spring thaw when everyone emerges from their hibernations.
20. Today I met a blogger. A blogger who, up until now, I’ve only known through reading her blog. It was super cool to meet face to face!!
21. I once suffered a terrible big-toenail injury. This ocurred on Wellington St. (Ave.?) in Chicago, on a dark June night, while wearing impractical flip-flops and walking to eat crepes.
22. There is someone I want to ‘meet ‘on Facebook, but it’s been SO LONG and I haven’t gotten up the guts to friend this person yet.
23. I couldn’t figure out how to get the hood of my car open this morning. My dad saved the day.
24. I want to see a bunch of movies right now: Revolutionary Road, Slumdog Millionaire, 7 Pounds, Vicky Christina Barcelona, The Reader…but not Marley and Me. (I’d link to these, but there’s no time!)
25. I have a part-part-part-time job. I work one Saturday a month conducting English language proficiency interviews with non-native speakers taking English proficiency exams. It’s actually a lot harder than it sounds, and than I expected it to be.
26. Bonus! Time: 9:50 p.m. Laptop battery power: 7% (I had to plug it in).
These are fun! I enjoyed Lindsay’s list earlier and now yours too! Maybe I will make a random list one of these days ;)
great random list of things. and about no. 15 – it doesn’t matter if you are working are not – i think they all go through the stage of being demanding, persistent, whiney little buggers. :)
great list! I like random lists they are fun little tidbits about people.
is there anything more disgusting than eating in bed? Seriously, so gross….
