Saturday we went strawberry picking at the Bauer Berry Farm. We had never been berry picking before, so we weren’t sure what to expect. All we knew is that we wanted a nice big load of yummy juicy berries. Each adult was assigned a row of strawberry plants, and you could pick as many berries as you liked. The berries were big and wonderful and red and so delicious. Ryan got into the picking, but he ate every berry he picked. All in all, we ended up with A TON of strawberries ($25 worth to be exact).

Then we got home and had to figure out what to do with ALL THESE BERRIES

Read all about what we did with all these strawberries here.

What fun! My grandfather farmed and grew strawberries – I have such fond memories of walking through the patches and eating myself silly. I vote for Strawberry Freezer Jam – wonderful on toasted English muffins!
Yeah, you went strawberry picking too! =) Here’s a great recipe…I know you don’t love to cook but it was SUPER easy, super fast and really delicious!

I also made 8 jars of jam–also fast and easy–from start to finish (including washing/boiling jars and cleanup afterward it was only 1.5 hours!). Buy Sure-Jell and there is a “quick & easy” recipe in the box. It’s 4 cups smashed strawberries, sugar, sure-jell & water. Easy!
The little girl in the pink sun hate ate more than your husband did. She rocks!
